Roberto Murillo is a cinematographer and photographer from San José, Costa Rica.

His professional work ranges from commercial, documentary, narrative to experimental projects.

Born 1991 in Costa Rica.

After studying film at the NECTV Veritas film school Roberto has shot with national and international production companies with clients such as; Netflix, Starbucks, McDonald´s, BBC, META, Stink Films, Whisky Films, Pepsi, and others.

In 2021 directed on Netflix’s Original show “Stories of a generation - with Pope Francis”.

He worked as cinematographer on Ernesto Jara’s documentary “Altamar” (yet to be released), this feature film received the costarrican national fund El Fauno and Ibermedia cinema fund.

Winner of the BEST CINEMATOGRAPHER award TMFF 2023 for his work on the short film “Ceniza y Sangre”.

On 2023 he received the prestigious FinnFoto fund for his photography project “Cosas que quiero que recuerden”, premiered at Laterna Magica photo gallery in Helsinki.
